Thank you for your interest in the Independent Armored Car Operators Association, Inc. (IACOA). What follows is a quick snapshot of our industry and our association.
The Independent Armored Car Operators Association, Inc. (IACOA) was founded in 1971 to provide an association for the growing number of privately owned armored car companies and to establish high standards of operation and insurance. Over the years, the organization has grown to include companies throughout the United States and the world. These companies, while independent, and sometimes in competition with each other, work together in areas of security and insurance to guarantee their customers the best possible service available.
The Cash In Transit Industry is relatively small in size but looms large in the safe and efficient movement of our nation's wealth. Literally billions of dollars each day are transported safely around the United States and the world by armored vehicles and airplanes. Without this basic, secure, and reliable service, our financial markets would grind to a halt.
No one knows for sure how many Cash In Transit companies are in the United States, best guesses range anywhere from sixty-five (65) to eighty (80). At any time one time, IACOA has as Regular Members (the Cash In Transit providers) forty (40) to fifty (50) companies. These companies range from family owned operators with three (3) or four (4) armored trucks, to companies with national reach and more than two thousand (2,000) vehicles.
IACOA provides its members with a number of benefits, including lobbying efforts at the federal level, workshops, a knowledge base (many of our members have been in the business for over fifty years), networking, and an annual convention in which a majority of our Regular Members and Industry Associate Members (vendors) attend. Our annual convention is the focal point of our industry; speakers and attendees use the opportunity to learn, network, and modify their business plans for years to come.
Currently, membership dues are $500 per year for both Regular Members and Associate Members. Membership is required for attendance to all annual conventions, workshops, and listings on the IACOA website. Annual Convention registration fees vary, but generally, each Regular Member attendee pays $495, each Associate Member attendee pays $990 and that fee includes an exhibitor's 8'x10' pipe and draped booth; truck exhibition fees vary.
